Stickers

Are your stickers good quality?
arrow_drop_down

Yes.

Since our parent company Kartdavid launched in 2007, we’ve printed over 10 million stickers.

We have relentlessly focused on improving our products over the years and make some of our materials to ensure the perfect quality, every time.

We use the latest, digital printing & cutting technology to ensure the highest level of detail possible.

We focus on quality and sacrifice margin because we only use the best quality materials.

How long will my stickers last?
arrow_drop_down

It depends on the type of sticker you order.

Our biodegradable paper stickers are designed to last two years indoors.

Our most popular white vinyl uses the highest quality, 70-micron vinyl, printed on state-of-the-art digital printers, finished with a 70-micron clear gloss, abrasion-resistant over-laminate, that will make your stickers last up to 5 years.

If your sticker is outside, in direct sunlight and getting rubbed regularly, this will reduce the lifetime of your labels, but they will still last ages.

We typically find people want a change of design before the sticker needs replacing.

How do I apply my stickers?
arrow_drop_down

Very simply if you follow these instructions:

  1. Clean the area you’re going to apply your sticker to (this is the most critical part). Get it super clean by using an alcoholic cleaner or glasses wipe.
  2. Remove your sticker from the backing paper and place it lightly onto the area you want to apply it. If it’s not exactly where you want it, simply peel up and start again.
  3. Working from the centre of the sticker out apply pressure to the sticker to ensure it sticks securely. You can use your thumb, or a squeegee if you’re a pro.
  4. If you get any small bubbles, simply lift the sticker a little and re-apply the pressure with your thumb.

TIP#1: be patient, and you’ll get great results.

TIP#2: use heat from a hairdryer if you’re applying your sticker to a curved surface, such as a car wing mirror.

Can I put my stickers in the washing machine?
arrow_drop_down

Only some of our materials are suitable for the washing machine. Read more about each of them here. You can put our white & clear materials in the washing machine. Our chrome and fluorescent materials won’t last as well. However, they can still be used in the washing machine.

If you apply these materials to glasses or plates, please hand wash with care.

Can I get samples?
arrow_drop_down

Yes, you can order a sample pack here. It’s a great way to make sure you’re buying the correct sticker for your application.

Peel them, stick them, rub them, rinse them underwater or chemicals. Do whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable they’re right for you.

What can I apply my sticker to?
arrow_drop_down

Pretty much anything! An excellent rule to follow is that the smoother and cleaner the surface, the better your adhesion will be. The best type of cleaner is an alcoholic based cleaner, for example, a glasses wipe or brake cleaner.

Here are some useful instructions on how to apply your sticker.

Are all stickers waterproof?
arrow_drop_down

Apart from our biodegradable paper material, all of our stickers have a protective laminate which makes them completely waterproof.

For detailed information about each material we print on, see here.

What does splash-proof mean?
arrow_drop_down

If a sticker or material is splash-proof, it means it can handle droplets of water hitting its surface.
It cannot handle being soaked or submerged in water for even short periods.
It also cannot come into contact with oil. Oil can stain some materials, mainly paper materials.
As a general rule, papers are sometimes splashproof, or not suitable for any contact with liquids, whereas plastics are usually either splash-proof or waterproof.

Artwork

What is the difference between vector and bitmap artwork?
arrow_drop_down

A vector image uses geometrical formulas (maths) to represent images. Bitmap images, also known as raster, are made up of a pattern of dots (pixels).

Therefore, it is straightforward to scale & change vector artwork using a programme such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw.

If you are using bitmap images, try to have the highest resolution possible so when you want to scale, it doesn’t go blurry.

Which formats of artwork do you accept?
arrow_drop_down

We accept almost any artwork. If you are having trouble uploading it, please email it to us.

Here is an exhaustive list of the artwork you can upload:

How to get the most accurate colours?
arrow_drop_down

To get the most accurate colours please let us know us a CMYK, RGB or Pantone reference for the colour(s) you want us to match as closely as possible. We will then edit your artwork to make sure these colours print closely.

Can I give you low quality artwork?
arrow_drop_down

Yes, but please be aware it could appear blurry if you want larger stickers. We have smart methods of increasing the resolution of bitmap images, but there is no replacement for sending in high-resolution images or vector artwork.

Will my size change during proofing?
arrow_drop_down

Occasionally, but only in one dimension, due to the aspect ratio.

We want to keep the aspect ratio the same, so your artwork doesn’t appear stretched in one direction.

For example, if you have selected 3x5cm stickers, but your artwork is 3cm x 5.1cm when scaled without losing its aspect ratio, this will be the final size.

You can request changes if you’d like the size changed. We can either change the number of stickers in your order to match the original price or refund you the difference if you require less.

Can you print fluorescent colours?
arrow_drop_down

We print onto fluorescent materials & have the colour of the material coming through your design in specific places to make it appear fluorescent. The effect can look amazing. For lots of examples, visit our fluorescent stickers product page.

How to prepare vector artwork?
arrow_drop_down

If you are giving us vector artwork, please change your colours to CMYK and convert the text to curves.

We prefer eps files as these keep most of the information about a vector.

Here is a useful video about how to add a cutline and white layer if you want clear, holographic, fluorescent or your design printed on any colour other than white material:

Die-cut stickers

What is a die-cut sticker?
arrow_drop_down

A die-cut sticker is simply a sticker cut to any shape you want. Its name comes from the old-days when stickers use to be cut using die’s (hard, metal shapes that would stamp down over vinyl to cut them into shape). We don’t use die’s any more we use advanced digital cutting to get perfect cuts every time.

To read more visit our blog, what is a die cut sticker.

Are die cut vinyl stickers waterproof?
arrow_drop_down

Yes and no.
If a sticker is die-cut, it doesn’t mean it’s waterproof.
Die-cutting refers to how a sticker is cut, not the material.
Some materials are waterproof, and some are not.
Plastic materials tend to be waterproof, and papers tend not to be waterproof. Find out more information about each available material here.
For best results, ensure your sticker is laminated to protect your printed layer from getting washed or rubbed off.

What are die cut stickers used for?
arrow_drop_down

Here are the most popular uses of die-cut stickers:

  • Drinks glass stickers
  • Food packaging labelling
  • Makeup packaging
  • Vape product packaging
  • Phone and laptop branding
  • Bumper stickers
  • Branding glass or plastic bottles
  • Company signage
  • General branding stickers
  • Bike frame stickers
  • Logo stickers of all uses
  • Food packaging labelling
How much do die cut stickers cost?
arrow_drop_down

The cost will vary depending on the material you choose for your stickers.
For our most popular white plastic material, 5x5cm in size, here are some approximate prices:
25 = £23 (92p each)
50 = £34 (68p each)
100 = £52 (52p each)
500 = £96 (19.2p each)
1000 = £135 (13.5p each)

Why is it called die cut?
arrow_drop_down

The term die-cut originated when stickers were cut using thin strips of sharp metal formed into shapes, known as dies.
Die-cutting is still used today in many industries. But for stickers and labels, we now use advanced tools such as high-speed lasers or digitally controlled knives for all shapes, ensuring minimal setup costs and fast delivery times.
However, we still call custom-shaped stickers die-cut, because people are used to it.

Who invented die cutting?
arrow_drop_down

Die-cutting developed as a result of the Industrial Revolution. Manufacturers needed to produce standardized parts of their products economically.

In the early to mid-1800s, artisans started to cut out parts using a pattern with a hand-held knife. The next evolution was to create cutting dies to cut out the different pieces of a product.

By the late 1800s, parts were cut using die-cutting presses, mainly in shoe manufacturing for cutting leather.

Other industries adopted the process of die-cutting, including the sticker & label industry, and it’s still widely used today.
